If one of the circuits loses power, you may want to reset it.
Resetting a circuit on your Basis Smart Panel is designed to be straightforward, user-friendly, and quick. Whenever power to a circuit is interrupted, your Basis Home App will promptly alert you.
This interruption may occur due to a malfunction in one of your appliances that has triggered our built-in safety sensors, or it may indicate a different electrical issue that necessitates the expertise of a Basis Certified Electrician.
How do you know when a circuit needs to be reset?
If you check the panel, the e-Ink display will indicate "Fault," and the LED will illuminate in a color other than red. Additionally, your Home App will reflect this information digitally, and your Event Log will provide further details about the incident.
How do you reset the circuit?
Before proceeding with the reset, ensure that any appliance you suspect may have caused the circuit interruption is disconnected from the mains power supply.
Resetting the circuit is a simple process. Just toggle the switch next to the circuit back to the 'On' position. You should see the e-Ink display change to 'On', and the LED will switch to red, indicating that power has been successfully restored to the circuit.
What should you do if the circuit trips again?
Should the circuit trip once more after you have reset it, even with the suspected appliance unplugged, this signifies that the Basis Smart Panel has identified another underlying electrical problem. In this case, it is advisable to reach out to your local Basis Approved Electrician for a thorough inspection and resolution of the issue.
