Routines allow for automated control on any of your circuits - here's how to set one up for yourself.
One of the advantages of the Basis Smart Panel is the ability to create automated, time-based routines for any of your circuits. For instance, you can schedule your lights to turn on at specific times while you are away on vacation, or program your hot water cylinder to operate only during off-peak electricity rates.
To set up these routines, start by opening the "Control" tab on your Basis Home app's homescreen, then navigate to the "Routines" section. In this area, you will find any existing routines you have already configured, along with options to create a custom routine or explore pre-designed suggested routines, also known as "templates."
Custom Routines
Creating a custom routine involves two key elements: selecting the circuit you want to control and defining the timing for that control.
To begin, tap "add" in the circuit section of the app, where you will see a list of your pre-labeled circuits. Choose the circuit you wish to configure for your routine. During the scheduled time, this circuit will switch to standby mode (essentially turning off).
Next, tap "add" in the schedule section. This allows you to specify the days and times when you want the circuit to enter standby mode. You can also set up multiple time slots if needed. Once you have arranged everything to your satisfaction, simply tap "Create." Your custom routine is now set and ready to use!
Suggested Routines
These pre-configured routines, created by Basis, are designed to help you reduce your electricity costs. When you select a template, you benefit from a routine that is already set up for you, and the app will even provide an estimate of your potential savings when you activate it.
If you need to adjust the times to better align with your family's schedule or energy plan, you can easily modify the settings by editing the schedule.
It's as simple as that - now sit back and watch the savings roll in!
