What do I do if I accidentally set the wrong circuit to standby?

The only circuit that should always remain active is the one connected to your router or modem. During your installation, your Basis Certified Electrician may have placed a restriction on this circuit to prevent you from turning it to standby mode. If no restriction is in place and you inadvertently set this circuit to standby, you will lose internet connectivity, making it impossible to reactivate the circuit through the Home App.

In such an event, you can exit standby mode by turning the breaker OFF then ON within two seconds.

If this doesn't work, power cycling your panel (turning the main switch OFF then ON after 30 seconds) will bring the circuit back.

If you accidentally set any other circuit to standby, you can easily turn it back on using the app.

Using the Standby button

The new Standby button feature gives you quick control over circuit power. But it has safety settings to prevent accidents:

1. Find the Standby button on your circuit detail screen
2. Tap it to activate Standby mode for that circuit
3. Depending on your settings, you may need to confirm the action

Tip: Standby is great for turning off circuits you don't need right now, like second refrigerators or entertainment systems.

Customising Standby preferences

You can adjust how Standby works to match your needs:

Standby modes:

• Block mode — Prevents accidental circuit shutdowns. The app will ask for confirmation before activating Standby. Recommended for: Wi-Fi routers, security systems, refrigerators, and other critical circuits.
• Allowed mode — Enables quick Standby activation without a confirmation prompt. Best for: Non-essential circuits like entertainment systems, heating, or garden lights.
• Default — Requires confirmation before activating Standby

To change your Standby setting:

1. Open your circuit detail screen
2. Find the Standby preferences option
3. Select your preferred mode (Block or Allowed)
4. Save your changes
