Why does the Basis Smart Panel have to be installed by a Basis Certified Electrician?

If I'm handy with electrical work, can I just install the panel myself?

Installing a Basis Smart Panel is considered prescribed electrical work - and needs to be carried out by a licensed electrician. Not only that, but the Basis Smart Panel is pretty cool new tech - so we like to ensure sparkys are trained on all the features before installing one for the first time. 

We have Basis Certified Electricians all over New Zealand (and soon Australia!), and more are being trained every day - so if we don't have one in your area just yet, they won't be far away.
